Libraries Nova Scotia (LNS) began as a collaboration of all Nova Scotia university, community college, and public libraries. Its founding mission is to contribute to the development of sustainable communities in Nova Scotia through providing all Nova Scotians with seamless, barrier-free access to the world’s information sources.
Through the work of the LNS Borrow Anywhere, Return Anywhere (BARA) project, Nova Scotia residents can now borrow in person from any university, community college, or public library, anywhere in the province. Browse the collections, talk to staff, and sign up to borrow books by exploring the more than 100 libraries across the province. Residents can return their borrowed books to any participating library and they will be shipped back to their home-library safe and sound, free of charge.
Other LNS initiatives to date include One Book Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Historical Newspapers Online digitization project.
